I became a member of The Hidden Homeless management committee after getting to know Gary Staniforth and his life story through working in the homelessness sector in Bradford. I am very committed to improving the lives and opportunities for vulnerable people and joining the Hidden Homeless committee seemed a good way of helping a fledgling organisation become sustainable, grow and assist people to address the issues leading to and/or arising from their housing status.
I have worked for Horton Housing Association in various capacities since 1988. I became a member of the Senior Management Team in 1993 after being appointed as Services Manager. My current post is that of Chief Executive Officer.
I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. I graduated from Leeds University in 1985; in 1997 I completed a Dip. H.E. (Housing) at Leeds Metropolitan University and then went on to achieve an MBA in 2005 at Huddersfield University.
I began work as a professional footballer with local team Huddersfield Town. After a brief stint working for HMRC, I entered the supported housing sector when he became a Warden in a Probation Hostel in Bradford. I then went on to join Horton Housing in their first accommodation scheme, St Paul’s Road.
I am married to Louise and have two grown-up daughters, both of whom play football!
